Managed Firewall Service (MFS)

Global Crossing Managed Firewall Service (MFS) protect an organization's key information assets across networks, hosts, applications and databases. Global Crossing security operation centers become an extension of each customer's in-house IT staff, providing analysis, configuration, setup, alerts and 24x7 system management. The customized firewall services harness industry's best practices to ensure a high level of network access and information availability, integrity and privacy. Around-the-clock firewall monitoring generates immediate alerts and responses for service outages and security alerts associated with critical Internet access points.

Managed Intrusion Detection Service (IDS)

Managed Intrusion Detection Services include security event monitoring, analysis, and response/escalation procedures. By intelligently placing intrusion detection sensors on a network, Global Crossing can manage a customer's devices around-the-clock, monitoring for security violations or misuse that originates from inside or outside the network. IDS is available in two variations:

  • Host-Based Intrusion Detection Service (HIDS)
  • Network-Based Intrusion Detection (NIDS)

Managed Intrusion Prevention Services (IPS)

Managed Intrusion Prevention Service (IPS) consists of managing and monitoring intrusion prevention devices. Devices are managed and monitored for health events and security violations from attacks that originate inside or outside the network. Customers are notified of major events that were not blocked by the intrusion prevention device. The service is similar to the Intrusion Detection but the Intrusion Prevention device is set up to take immediate action if it appears that malicious traffic has entered the system.

Host Log Monitoring (HLM)

Many data protection and privacy regulations require that access to sensitive data be logged in addition to those types of activities that could constitute a security violation. Host Log Monitoring Service allows Global Crossing and VeriSign to do the detailed work around watching the customer's critical logs using a combination of signature and anomaly based detective mechanisms. We store them as long as the customer requires and alert them to any suspicious behavior. In addition, we develop custom signatures for unique events in the customer's environment.
