Global Crossing Wavelength Service offers high-speed, PoP-to-PoP, linear, bi-directional data transmission. Bandwidth capacity can be scaled up easily by adding additional waves.
TRANSMISSION SPEEDS
PROTOCOL SUPPORT
SONET/SDH, IP, ATM, Gigabit Ethernet, and several other protocols that are still in development. (Subject to adherence to ITU-T and Telcordia standards for SONET/SDH framed signal.)
IMPLEMENTATION NOTE
Global Crossing Wavelength Service allows access to the Line and Path overhead bytes. These bytes will be transparent* through the Global Crossing network and can be used by customers to communicate between SDH/SONET ADMs, IP routers, or ATM switches.
ACCESS OPTIONS
Co-location, riser and mid-span meet.
PROTECTION OPTION
Customers can achieve path diversity by purchasing a second, geographically diverse Global Crossing Wavelength Service (at an additional cost). Protection can be achieved by implementing an equipment-based protection scheme (protection switching is the customer's responsibility).
