Global Crossing Receives INTERNET TELEPHONY Magazine's 2006 Product of the Year Award

Global Crossing VoIP On-Net Plus Recognized for Outstanding Innovation

Florham Park, N.J. - February 6, 2007 -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced that Technology Marketing Corporation's (TMC®) INTERNET TELEPHONY® magazine (www.itmag.com) has recognized Global Crossing VoIP On-Net Plus Service™ with its 2006 Product of the Year Award.

Global Crossing VoIP On-Net Plus™ is one of the industry's first fully integrated IP network-based voice Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). It helps enterprises worldwide migrate to a fully converged, IP solution by consolidating voice and data networks on a single IP network. It also simplifies network management and telephony administration by migrating existing voice VPNs to an IP platform.

"We're honored that INTERNET TELEPHONY has recognized VoIP On-Net Plus at the same time we've announced its global availability," said Anthony Christie, Global Crossing's chief marketing officer. "VoIP On-Net Plus empowers enterprises to reap the immediate benefits of IP convergence with existing infrastructure, without disrupting their existing VPNs. Our network-based VoIP services also help enterprises achieve lower total cost of ownership as they seamlessly and securely migrate to a converged IP network."

VoIP On-Net Plus also supports global network-based private numbering plans for internal and external calling via Global Crossing's worldwide Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) network. The service reaches more than 600 cities in 60 countries.

"We've been using VoIP On-Net Plus for the past year and are extremely pleased with the results," said Cheryl Mook, team leader for telecommunications at Lord Corp. "VoIP On-Net Plus allows us to reach our nine international locations effortlessly, while we enjoy the cost savings of migrating to a converged voice, video and data environment whenever we decide, using our existing equipment."

To assist enterprise customers in maximizing their investment in a converged IP network, Global Crossing VoIP On-Net Plus includes several other features such as Global Crossing VoIP Ready-Access® -- Global Crossing's flagship reservationless, on-demand audio collaboration service. It also includes Global Crossing VoIP Community Peering™ that enables customers to create an extranet calling community for their various business partners, and Cross Protocol Routing that allows both TDM and IP connections to the VoIP network for migration simplification.

"Each year INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine recognizes companies that have demonstrated excellence in technological advancement and application refinements," said Rich Tehrani, TMC president and editor-in-chief of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine. "Global Crossing has proven they are committed to quality and excellence, while addressing real needs in the marketplace. We're proud to honor their hard work and accomplishments with our 2006 Product of the Year Award and look forward to more innovative solutions from them in the future."

A full list of Product of the Year winners will be published in the February, 2007 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine at www.itmag.com. For more information about TMC and INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine, please visit www.tmcnet.com.
