Global Crossing Positioned in the Challengers Quadrant for 1H08 U.S. Network Service Providers Magic Quadrant
Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute
Florham Park, N.J. - April 15, 2008 -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the challengers quadrant in the 'Magic Quadrant for U.S. Network Service Providers, 1H08 '* report.
"Global Crossing has achieved a number of significant milestones recently, and we consider our positioning in the challenger quadrant by Gartner another proof point that we're on the right track and are the alternative provider of choice," said John Legere, Global Crossing's CEO. "The effect of the strategic initiatives we undertook three years ago to transform the company and accelerate its growth can be seen in the results we've delivered. Our financial performance has been strong, as have order levels across the business, putting us on a trajectory for ongoing success."
This Magic Quadrant Report examines the U.S. wireline voice and data communication market, assessing a vendor's capability to provide these services to the business market. Each company is evaluated on two sets of criteria. The first set measures its ability to execute, including factors such as service quality, product differentiation, pricing and corporate viability. The second set of criteria measures completeness of vision, including a thorough understanding of what clients want now and in the future, a clear and evolving coverage and product strategy and a portfolio broad enough to satisfy the needs of most customers.
"We're taking advantage of industry consolidation and our differentiated global network asset, and we're seeing the benefits of our acquisitions of Fibernet and Impsat," Legere said. "At the same time, we provide unparalleled customer focus for a consistent, positive experience. We've had six consecutive quarters of customer satisfaction at 97 percent or better, and in our last CSAT survey, 99 percent of our customers were satisfied with us and almost 70 percent were 'very satisfied.'"
