uCommand Delivers Superior Customer Experience

Delivering a superior customer experience continues to be a primary focus for Global Crossing in 2007. And that's "customer experience" as defined by you -- our customers. This drive to continuously improve how we serve you is the impetus behind some of the primary capabilities of our market-leading uCommand® Customer Web Portal.

Some of you already are familiar with the portal, but for those who aren't, customers use it to manage and monitor their Global Crossing services, as well as their own networks. uCommand lets customers order, provision, troubleshoot, view, manage and support their networks around-the-clock in a secure, customizable environment. Using the portal also helps them improve their employees' productivity, freeing them to focus on their core business.

Clearly, you are seeking more from your network investment and from us, your service provider. You want real-time control with capabilities, such as session-awareness versus application awareness. You want policy management awareness versus automated dynamic re-allocation. You've also said end-to-end application performance visibility and control is important to you. And, finally, you want features, such as customization of reporting interfaces and proactive notification thresholds.

We've listened to your input and based on your feedback continue to enhance our Web Portal with capabilities that we believe will improve the overall experience you have in doing business with us.

Some of uCommand's key and valued customer capabilities/features are:

  • A Network area that allows customers to monitor the performance of their network by studying traffic utilization trends. Data and Voice Utilization is available, as well as a view of managed router configurations. In addition, it allows customers who have Applications Performance Management (APM) (fully managed, converged IP services network) the ability to view, monitor and manage, in real-time, their end-to-end network performance with robust troubleshooting capabilities and one-second increment data gathering at every site throughout their converged IP network.
  • Real-time reports (five minute intervals) are available for every DIA, Frame Relay, ATM, IPVPN port and PVC on the network. They can be downloaded into an Excel spreadsheet or into PDF format for further analysis.
  • An Enhanced Routing capability that allows customers to control and route toll-free traffic in a real-time environment. Enhanced Routing also offers emergency routing and cloning of routing plans. Routing Plans are easy to create. After only a few clicks, users can see online details of routing plans, as well as confirmation during the process that the routing plans are being implemented accurately.
  • The ability for Managed Services customers to view near-real-time alerts that measure the health of their network equipment by location. Alert History keeps a log (by location) of all alerts sent to uCommand® by the network monitoring system. By selecting an interactive map, users can see potential issues that may affect their networks before the impact is experienced.

Obtaining access to uCommand® is easy. Just contact a Customer Support Manager, who will provide a log in and a password, as well as a walk through of a demonstration that highlights the portal's available capabilities.
